NRI doctors have launched the Emotional Assessment of Students by Educators (EASE) program to prevent student suicides. The program aims to train medical students and extend support to students in other streams. In 2022, 13,044 students died by suicide in India, averaging approximately 36 students every day. Both teachers and medical professionals lack training in identifying and intervening with suicide.
