Since the very instant you were born and up to your last moment you are breathing. You can hold your breath, but you can’t stop breathing completely without wreaking havoc on your whole body. When you are scared or perform an increased amount of physical activity you breathe faster, and whenever you are relaxed or asleep your breathing slows. You may have never paid attention to how exactly you do it, and there may even have been some moments in your life when you forgot how to do it for a couple of seconds.
